Etobicoke's house streets, covered
Toronto's west end isn't only condo towers. Away from the lakeshore high-rises, Etobicoke is full of houses: the tree-lined streets of The Kingsway around Bloor Street West and Royal York Road, the older blocks of Islington Village along Dundas Street West, and the residential streets of Mimico and Long Branch near Lake Shore Boulevard West.
When you live in a house, an at-home repair is about as simple as it gets. No elevator, no concierge, no visitor parking to sort out. A certified woman technician pulls up out front and the repair happens wherever suits you, whether that's the kitchen table, the front porch or beside your car in the driveway.
How a house visit works
- Tell us what's wrong. Call or WhatsApp (365) 351-4247, or request a visit online. Include your phone model, a photo of the damage and your nearest major intersection, such as Royal York and Bloor or Islington and Dundas.
- Get a free quote. You'll know what the repair involves and what it costs before any work starts.
- Pick a window. Choose Morning, Afternoon or Evening online. Your technician confirms an exact time by phone or WhatsApp.
- She comes to your door. Most streets in these neighbourhoods have a driveway or street parking close by.
- Repair and test together. The phone is fixed on the spot and you check the screen, camera, speakers and charging with her before she leaves.
Kitchen table or driveway?
Both work. It comes down to what's easier for your household that day.
The kitchen table
A kitchen or dining table gives good light, a flat surface and an outlet nearby. It's also close to your Wi-Fi, which helps if you need to sign in to your Apple Account after the repair or test a FaceTime call.
The driveway
Some people would rather keep the visit outside: the baby is napping, you're on a work call in the next room, the dog won't settle, or you simply prefer it. A driveway repair beside your car works well, as long as there's a steady surface and a bit of shade on a bright day.
Either way, a few small things make the visit go smoothly:
- Clear a spot with good light, near a window or under a porch light in the evening.
- Keep pets in another room. Phone screws are tiny and easy to lose.
- Have your passcode ready so you can test the phone together afterwards.
- If it's an iPhone, know your Apple Account password in case you need to sign in.
Summer evenings in Etobicoke
In summer, the Evening window (5 to 9pm) is a natural fit for house visits. It's light out late, you're home from work, and a repair can happen after dinner while the kids play in the yard. A long walk at Marie Curtis Park or along the waterfront doesn't have to be cut short for a trip to a repair shop.
Summer also brings its own kind of phone trouble:
- Phones dropped face-down on interlock driveways and patio stone
- Batteries that can't keep up with long days of photos, maps and music outdoors
- Cracked back glass from a phone left on a deck chair
- Charging ports packed with lint and grit from shorts pockets
Need help after 9pm? Online requests stop at the Evening window, but you can still call or WhatsApp at any hour to arrange something.
iPhone repairs that can be done at your house
Most common iPhone repairs can be done right at your table or in your driveway:
- Cracked or unresponsive screens
- Battery replacements for phones that won't last the day
- Charging port problems
- Back glass and camera repairs
Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other Android phones are covered too, along with iPads and tablets. If more than one device in the house needs attention, mention them all when you ask for a quote.
Before the technician arrives
A little preparation helps. Back up your phone if it still works, note down your model (Settings › General › About on an iPhone), and remove the case. Our at-home phone repair guide walks through the whole process, including what happens to your data during a repair.
Other parts of the west end
Etobicoke is the part of Toronto closest to our Milton base, which tends to make scheduling easier. If you're in a condo closer to the lake, the visit works much the same, just in your unit or lobby instead. Long Branch sits right on the Mississauga border at Etobicoke Creek, and we cover Mississauga as well. See our Toronto service area page for more.
Need a hand?
If your phone is cracked, slow to charge or won't last the day, you don't need to leave The Kingsway, Islington Village, Mimico or Long Branch to get it fixed. Frequently asked questions
Do you repair phones at houses in Etobicoke, or only condos?
Both. A certified woman technician comes to houses in The Kingsway, Islington Village, Mimico, Long Branch and across Etobicoke, as well as condo buildings. The repair can happen at your kitchen table, on the porch or in your driveway.
Can my phone be repaired in my driveway?
Yes. If you'd rather keep the visit outside, the technician can work beside your car in the driveway. A steady surface and some shade on a sunny day help. You'll test the phone together before she leaves.
Do you have evening appointments in Etobicoke?
Yes. Online requests can book the Evening window, from 5 to 9pm, and your technician confirms an exact time by phone or WhatsApp. For later than that, call or WhatsApp (365) 351-4247, which is answered 24 hours a day.
